One More Swing

Friend,
This morning's devotional hit me square in the chest:
"The nature of the spiritual life is that we are certain in our uncertainty."
I read it three times. Because here's what's been rattling around in my head all week:
If you're not living a life where God HAS to show up — are you really living a life of faith?
Abraham raised the knife. The ram didn't appear until the last second. That's not a near miss. That's the whole point.
Ten years ago, the day before I flew to LA for the biggest pitch of my life, I got a phone call. Not a normal call. The kind of call that could've changed the entire trajectory of Ice Age Meals before it ever started.
A meeting got set. A man sat across the table from me with an offer.
After that day — I never heard from him again.
Until yesterday.
I'll tell you the rest on Friday.
In the meantime, here's what I told my team this morning: I don't know what's next. I can rarely see the next step. But that doesn't stop me from taking it.
Every morning I get the chance to take one more swing.
That's the whole assignment.
Most folks quit because quitting is the only thing that hands them certainty. Stop, and you know exactly how it ends. Keep going, and you don't. That used to terrify me. Now I see it for what it is — the only place faith can actually live.
So if your week's been heavy, if your back's against the wall, if you don't know what's next…
Go take one more swing. It's the only way to find out what's possible...
Your Pal,
Paleo Nick
