The Rest Of The Story

Aloha, friends.

On Wednesday I told you the rest of the story would come out on Friday.

Well… it's Friday.

I'm back in the chair, coffee in hand, listening to the roosters. And after sitting with this for two days, here's the truth:

I still don't know the rest of the story.

I wish I could tell you the kitchen is finished. It isn't. The team in Reno is pushing hard. I'm pushing hard from here. And God is doing what only He can do - the part I don't always get to see.

What I do have is this:

The future is God's department.

It's something I've been reminding myself every morning since Masters Sunday of 2025, when I sat down and wrote my Pressure to Peace Plan without the slightest idea where it would lead.

Seventeen months later, I still don't know exactly where it's leading.

But something happened yesterday I want to share with you.

For those of you who don't know, I've been reading My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers every morning for fifteen years. The book was written over a hundred years ago. Each page is dated.

Yesterday's reading - dated July 16 - was titled "The Concept of Divine Control."

It happened to be the page I opened on the day between Wednesday's email and this one, while I was wrestling with what to write.

Read it slowly. Here's what I kept coming back to:

"Before you formed this concept of divine control so powerfully in your mind, you used to go from person to person seeking help, but now you go to God about it."

"God is my Father, He loves me, and I will never think of anything that He will forget, so why should I worry?"

"Not even the smallest detail of life happens unless God's will is behind it. Therefore, you can rest in perfect confidence in Him."

Not even the smallest detail.

Not the kitchen delays. Not the plumber blowing every valve seal. Not the fire department oversight. Not the uncertainty about what the next chapter of Ice Age Meals looks like. Not this letter I've been struggling to write.

None of it is outside His control.

So here's where I am today:

I'm doing what I feel led to do. Not what looks best on paper. What I feel led to do.

I'm trusting that all things work together for good.

And I look forward to feeding humanity with quality and excellence for years to come - whatever that looks like.

That last part is what I want you to hold onto.

Whatever that looks like.

Because the mission has never been the meals. The mission has been

  • feeding humanity with quality and excellence
  • debunking the lies we've been fed about food
  • and pointing people toward the Great I AM.

That mission is bigger than any kitchen, any org chart, any founder.

It will outlive whatever chapter I'm currently walking through.

Paul Harvey used to end his broadcasts with "And now you know… the rest of the story."

Turns out, on this Friday morning, I still don't know the rest of the story.

But I know Who does.

And that turns out to be very good news.

Mahalo. God bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace.

Your pal always,

Paleo Nick

PS: Working with my hands and my son under Hawaii's "Sauna Sun" to get the quonset done. I stop every 3 hours to feed 30 people. It takes zero emails to do either job - just what I've been praying for...
